Fred Lee was successful in negotiating a six figure settlement of a workers’ compensation claim on behalf of a South Georgia employee of the Georgia Department of Transportation.  The client sustained multiple serious injuries in a motor vehicle collision while on the job in Miller County.  His claims against the adverse driver and his uninsured motorist insurer had been settled earlier in 2015.

The attorneys and staff of Lee Durham, LLC  congratulate Fred Lee on the thirtieth (30th) anniversary of his admission to the Bar.  Mr. Lee graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in May, 1985.  He was admitted and sworn in to practice law on July 2, 1985  by the late Asa D. Kelley, Jr., Chief Judge, Dougherty Superior Court.

Fred Lee was successful in negotiating the settlement of a workers’ compensation case on behalf of a bank employee in South Georgia who sustained a rotator cuff injury when she fell in the bank’s vault.

Fred Lee and Negin Portivent successfully represented an employee of the Georgia Department of Transportation who was injured in a motor vehicle collision in Miller County, Georgia while he was on the job.  Their client sustained multiple injuries, requiring significant medical treatment, including a cervical fusion.  They were able to obtain the limits of liability coverage without filing suit.  A lawsuit was required to recover against the client’s uninsured motorist insurer, but that claim was settled after brief discovery.

Lee Durham, LLC was proud to be among the many sponsors of the Junior League of Albany, Georgia, Inc.’s presentation of Dueling Pianos on March 20, 2015.  The event benefitted Albany Advocacy Resource Center and Children’s Miracle Network.

Fred Lee and Negin Portivent were successful in resolving a case at mediation for injuries sustained by a Gulf War veteran during a hospitalization in South Georgia.  The client had been injured in a motor vehicle accident, but during his hospital stay he was further injured by staff during an attempt to transfer him from his bed to a chair.  The confidential settlement was reached during court-ordered mediation.

Lee Durham, LLC was proud to be among the many sponsors of Georgia Municipal Association’s Annual Golf Open held this year on October 13, 2014 at Riverview Park Golf Course in Dublin, Georgia.  The golf tournament supports GMA’s 2014 Mayors’ Christmas Motorcade.

Lee Durham, LLC was proud to be among the many sponsors of the ICLE Dinner and Auction for Kids’ Chance at St. Simons Island, Georgia.  This annual event is held during the Workers’ Compensation Institute, held there this year on October 9-11, 2014.

Fred Lee and Negin Portivent successfully represented a citizen in a South Georgia community who had been defamed by the publication of false information regarding his arrest in the local newspaper.  The claim was settled in pre-suit mediation.

Fred Lee, in association with Shane Hudson, successfully represented the surviving spouse and three minor children of a farm worker who was killed on the job in Thomas County.  After mediation, and within five (5) months of the date of the accident, a substantial settlement of the family’s claims for death benefits under the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Act was obtained.
